Bring the mould drawing into the discussion early. A die that fits between the tie bars still needs suitable mounting interfaces and space for ejection. Identify the parting direction and the route for removing the casting before choosing peripheral equipment.

Clamping force and shot requirements answer different questions. Review the alloy, casting geometry and metal required for the part and feed system. Compare the injection unit fields together, including plunger diameter, injection stroke and aluminum injection weight. Avoid treating the upper end of a range as a promise for every tool or process condition.

A cold chamber cell also needs a clear route for molten metal, spray access and part removal.
