COLD CHAMBER / MT950

MT950 Die Casting Machine

The MT950 is an MT cold chamber machine for aluminum, magnesium and copper alloys. Assess its tooling opening, injection arrangement and installation dimensions directly against the project drawings. A structured review can connect what the machine must hold, what it must inject and how the casting leaves the die.

Keep tool access distinct from mounting area

The MT950 has a 980x980 mm tie bar opening and 1480x1480 mm platen. Lay the entire die assembly over those boundaries, including mounting details and permanent projections. Access for loading a tool may depend on how it approaches the clamping area, while the installed tool needs support and reachable connections. Describe both positions rather than comparing only a closed frontal outline. The mould height range is 400-950 mm. Include all plates and retained adapters in that dimension, with the mounting faces clearly identified. Side actions and cooling circuits also occupy space around the main die block. Show the route used to connect and service them. For a transferred tool, its existing mounting drawing helps explain what has to remain and what could be adapted.

Describe the casting system before choosing a plunger

MT950 injection plunger diameter is listed at 90-130 mm, and aluminum injection weight at 9.1-19 KG. These fields need to be considered with the complete shot requirement. The casting, runner and other feed system features contribute to that requirement, so net part mass is only one input. Supply the alloy designation and cavity arrangement, keeping the aluminum mass reference attached to its named material. Injection force is 800 KN with an 800 mm stroke. A discussion of the intended plunger and tool should use those specifications together. Explain where metal enters and which sections are important to fill. A long rib, recessed feature or change in wall thickness communicates a technical requirement that an application label such as automotive or hardware cannot convey alone.

Check ejection against the actual removal envelope

MT950 clamping stroke is 800 mm and ejection stroke is 180 mm. Map the casting position at opening and after release, retaining the feed system in the drawing where it leaves the tool attached. Then add the intended handling device. A gripper requires its own space to approach and withdraw, and that path must avoid slide mechanisms and connections. Die spraying introduces another approach to the same open tooling area. Mark the surfaces to be reached and the waiting positions of any automated equipment. If existing auxiliaries are proposed, share their reach and mounting details with the tooling information. This lets the enquiry address the sequence of tasks and potential interference rather than assuming that an available opening automatically suits every peripheral arrangement.

Bring the machine outline into the site plan

The listed MT950 dimensions are 9.6x2.5x3.6 m, with a machine weight of 48000 KG. Use the actual outline in a dimensioned building plan and identify installation access. A working cell extends to the furnace, ladling route, discharge equipment and service areas. Mark the destination of the casting after extraction, including any conveying or trimming task. The motor power entry is 45 KW; utilities for the selected furnace and other peripherals need their own review. An MT950 quote request should include the alloy, tool assembly and full shot estimate alongside the part drawing. Identify equipment that will be reused and explain space restrictions. Keep all drawings on consistent revisions so the machine and cell discussion follows the same production requirement. For a transferred die, explain how the present production sequence handles its runners and trimmed metal. Keeping that downstream requirement visible helps the new layout preserve the intended handover while allowing the machine and auxiliary interfaces to be reviewed independently.
