Show the material that the trim operation removes

Start with a drawing or clear view of the casting before trimming. Identify the runner system, flash and other material to be separated, together with the surfaces that must remain. The finished component drawing provides another useful reference, particularly where later machining or assembly follows trimming. Keep both states of the part in the enquiry. That distinction helps explain the actual work expected at the trimming station and the way the casting must be positioned.

02 / SERIES

Describe support and access at the trimming tool

The casting needs a defined position for the trimming operation. Explain its orientation, the areas available for support and how it enters and leaves the tool. Include the overall tooling envelope and installation needs where already developed. A handling sketch can help show access around projections or delicate features. Discuss the press with the trim tooling as a connected arrangement so the equipment enquiry addresses the component and the work being carried out on it.

03 / SERIES

Connect the press to extraction and conveying

A trimming station may be part of a broader casting cell. YOMATO also offers auto extractors and conveyors, so identify whether the project includes the transfer from the die casting machine. Show the intended route, the release point from extraction equipment and the orientation needed at trimming. Include where the separated material and trimmed component go afterward. These destinations make the handling brief clearer and help describe the space required around the station.

04 / SERIES

Build a trimming enquiry around the actual part

Send the alloy, casting drawing, finished part drawing and description of the material to be removed. Add any trim tooling information, proposed handling method and floor layout. State whether the press will stand beside an existing machine or belong to a new cell. Distinguish hydraulic trimming from a general high speed punching enquiry so the conversation begins with the right production task. Ask for the proposed equipment scope and configuration in the quotation discussion.

If a casting has several areas to be trimmed, identify them on the drawing. Explain the intended sequence and the condition expected before the component moves to the following operation.
