COLD CHAMBER / MT180
MT180 Die Casting Machine
Consider the MT180 around the way your tool enters, mounts and opens inside the machine. This cold chamber model belongs to the MT range for aluminum, magnesium and copper alloys. Start the enquiry with the complete tool assembly and the casting feed system, rather than the component alone.

Installation begins outside the clamping area
A 460x460 mm tie bar opening provides the first dimensional reference for MT180 tool access. The 730x730 mm platen is a separate mounting reference, so show both boundaries on the mould assembly drawing. Include clamps, lifting points and anything that must pass through the opening during installation. Connections that can be fitted afterward should be distinguished from permanent projections. This helps explain how the die will actually enter the machine, rather than simply showing that its main block fits in the closed position. The mould height window is 250-600 mm. Measure that height from the intended mounting faces, including the plates that remain installed. If an existing tool is being moved, attach its current mounting arrangement and explain which interfaces are expected to change.

Select injection components as a connected arrangement
The MT180 table gives a 50-80 mm injection plunger diameter range and 1.6-3.2 KG aluminum injection weight. Establish the required metal quantity from the casting and its feed system before comparing those figures. Runner choices affect the shot requirement even when the net part remains unchanged. Share any preliminary gate layout and explain the proposed alloy, because an aluminum weight reference does not establish an identical mass for a different material. Injection force is listed at 320 KN and injection stroke at 420 mm. Read these alongside the plunger information rather than treating each maximum as a freely interchangeable option. The purpose of the enquiry is to align the injection arrangement with the tool and component. Identify any geometry that makes the filling path particularly important.

Keep the released casting in the drawing
A useful removal study shows the moving die, released part and handling device at the same time. MT180 clamping stroke is 420 mm, while ejection stroke is 110 mm. Their different roles matter when a casting has projecting bosses or a runner that extends beyond its visible outline. Mark the direction of release and the clearance needed to withdraw the whole casting assembly. Consider where an extractor could grip without obstructing the next operation. If removal will be manual, describe the intended access instead of leaving handling undefined. Die spraying also needs an approach to the open faces. Bring those requirements into the tool review before placing peripheral equipment, so the extraction route does not become the only available route for every other cell task.

Organize a repeatable enquiry package
MT180 is listed at 6.0x1.9x2.7 m, with an 18.5 KW motor. A floor layout should show more than that rectangular machine boundary. Add the furnace position, metal transfer path, operator position and the destination of the casting after removal. Identify whether parts will be conveyed, cooled or taken to a trimming operation. Existing auxiliaries can be part of the proposal, but their reach, connections and installation position should accompany the request. Label the drawings with the same project and revision information to avoid comparing mismatched inputs. For an MT180 quotation, provide the alloy and full mould dimensions along with the anticipated shot requirement. Ask about the equipment configuration around those inputs, and confirm order quantity and delivery requirements as part of the commercial discussion. Mark the point where responsibility passes from extraction to the next operation. A simple drawing of that handover can clarify whether the casting is placed in a tray, moved along a conveyor or presented for trimming, and what orientation the receiving task requires.
